About Us
Background
Yayasan Che Mas (YCM) is an organization established on 18th August 1999 under the Companies Commission of Malaysia Act (SSM). Initially, YCM was a foundation with the goal of assisting only family members and a small group of acquaintances.
The significant flood events in Kelantan in 2014 prompted Yayasan Che Mas (YCM) to actively assist the affected victims. YCM continued to grow actively with the addition of members and volunteers, as well as donations from Board of Directors members, corporate bodies, and acquaintances.
The Covid-19 pandemic that hit Malaysia from March 2020 to June 2022, along with the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO), has significantly changed the landscape of Yayasan Che Mas's community activities. YCM has adapted to these challenges to provide immediate assistance to more families severely affected by the loss of income sources.
The experiences of facing various difficulties encountered by the community have driven Yayasan Che Mas (YCM) to be more determined in fundraising efforts. This is done with the aim of expanding assistance programs to reach more people in need.
Yayasan Che Mas (YCM) has implemented the "Bakul Asnaf" program, distributing food supplies to families who are unable to provide daily meals for their children. The program was created with the main objective of eradicating hunger among children and those who are unable to support themselves.
The functionality of Yayasan Che Mas (YCM) has been further enhanced with the approval of Tax Exemption by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) under subsection 44(6) in August 2022. This serves as an incentive for donors to receive tax deductions for their contributions.
A heartfelt thank you to all the donors and volunteers who are committed to helping make this noble mission a success.
